I've heard that if you file a claim, your homeowners' insurance company will cancel
your policy. Is this true?
A homeowners' insurance company may cancel your policy if you have excessive
claims, usually more than 3 claims in a 3 year period.
What breeds of dogs are problems with insurance companies?
Any dog with biting history or any of the
following breeds: Akita, American Bull Dog,
Bull Mastiff or Mastiff, Chow, Doberman Pinscher,
German Shepard, Yorkie, Pit Bull Terrier,
Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Bull
Terrier, Wolf Dog or any mixture of these
breeds.
My house is worth a lot more than what my coverage provides. Why is this? Will I
have a problem at claim time?
Coverage A on your policy should reflect the cost of rebuilding your home.
This does not cover unattached structures,
land or market value. If you still do not
think Coverage A is adequate, please complete
the Homeowner
Questionnaire
and email
it to us, or contact our office, and we will
be happy to go over the questionnaire by phone.
I have no "other structures." Why do I have this coverage (Coverage B)?
Coverage B, Other Structures, is automatically included at 10 percent of Coverage A.
There is no charge for this coverage, and if we reduce or remove the coverage, the premium will not be reduced
.
How do I cancel my homeowners' policy?
Please contact the office, and we will forward
you a cancellation request, this needs to
be signed by all named insureds on the policy
and sent back to our office with the original
policy which was forwarded to you at the time
of renewal.
