The renewal process is efficient, with most renewal documents received within two days of processing. Renewal of a registration for a leased vehicle takes a little longer, since the registration must, by law, be mailed to the owner of the vehicle. Upon successful completion of the transaction, the system produces a confirmation of the renewal which is e-mailed immediately. The confirmation may be shown to a law enforcement officer as proof that a registration has been renewed in the event there is a delay in receipt of the new registration.
